The weekend and the game

Here is a picture of script Ohio. If you don't know what that is look it up!

This weekend we went to the Ohio State game. Neither Mike or I had been to an Ohio State game or a football game for that matter, so when an opportunity arose to go, we definitely were game. We left Saturday morning at 8 a.m. and didn't get back until a little after midnight. Despite the long day, we had a great time and it didn't hurt that OSU won, although at the end, I was a little nervous with one interception returned for a touchdown and one fumble returned for a touchdown also.

When you spend six hours in a car with someone, you tend to talk to make the drive not drag out and that is exactly what we did, talked, a lot! I have begun noticing lately that every time Mike and I try to talk, someone will call or stop by or one of the kids need something or are sick so I usually end the weekend with, "Oh, I forgot to tell him _____!" Not this weekend, we talked uninterrupted for five hours (he slept about an hour on the way home) and it was wonderful. I'm glad we had the chance to catch up and we have decided that we need to go out to dinner or to a movie or just get a babysitter and stay home once a month so we can catch up. Mike did make me promise however to let him know I want to talk and not drag him in a car for that long to be able to talk to him.

Mike is 6'4" so he doesn't fit comfortably in a car for too long. By the time we got home, he was like an 80 year old man with arthritis so I had to help him get out of the car. It was too funny. Overall, it was a really good time and we had lots of fun.

Sunday, we went to church and then to my grandma's to eat dinner, just like any other Sunday. Taylor went to my mom's for about an hour so Callee and I took a much needed nap. When Taylor got home, it seemed her cough was coming back from last week and sounded a little worse. By 7:00 she was just out of it and you could tell she was sick so I took her to Immediate Care. I had debated this for a while because I am always afraid I am overreacting and there is nothing wrong with them so I hate taking them to the doctor's. I ended up taking her and I am glad I did. She has had croup about 8 times in her life and pneumonia twice, I think. Callee is also prone to croup and pneumonia and she has added RSV to the list of ailments she's had. For whatever reason, my kids seem susceptible to the lung problems. Taylor now has a sinus infection and bronchitis. I have never heard of a 3 year old having bronchitis so I am glad I took her especially with her history of lung problems.

That was my weekend wrap up. It was a good one, but like all the others, it went by way too
fast! I hope everyone else's was good.

A Scrappers Game

Last night I took the girls to their first baseball game. Mike wasn't overly excited because he wasn't able to go with work and all. We had fun, we didn't get to stay the whole time because it didn't start until 7 and Callee is usually in bed by 8:30, but we did have fun. Amazingly, Callee lasted until a little after 9 which is great for her. Taylor seemed to enjoy the game, but was more interested in the socializing instead. Her friends Riley, Abbey and Alyssa were there so she bounced around from row to row. I should tell you we went with a bunch of people from our church so we had 4 rows of seats! I don't normally just let her roam around. I was really impressed with her socializing because usually she wants to just sit right next to me the whole time and gets very shy and quiet. This was a huge step!

I wanted to share the pictures Judy sent me from our church picnic the other day. She did not send me the one of Callee with cake all over her face, but she did send me 3 cute ones. Here they are: This is Taylor trying to be as messy as Callee was. It didn't quite work, but what a face she

is making.

This is Shelley blowing Alyssa's bubbles and Taylor enjoying them. The bubbles were Alyssa's auction "prize." There is the crazy puffed out lips face on Taylor again. I don't know where she got this or what she is doing!
This is Callee with her monkey "prize" from the auction. She would not look at the camera for anything! Look at how much she resembles her prize. Maybe it is just me but she looks so much like a monkey! I think she is beautiful, so no one take that as I'm being mean to her. I have always thought monkey's were cute, I just never thought I'd give birth to one! Have a great weekend, more on Monday!

Church Picnic

Last night our church had our annual Women's ministry Friends and Family Picnic. Of course it rained so the picnic was moved from the park to the church. Every year this turns out to be a great time for fellowship and we also have an auction to raise money for Women's ministry. This year, they auctioned off kids toys too. Every child there was given a dollar by the adults and sat right up front when it was their turn. The little ones weren't sure how to do it so they just kept waiving their dollar and it was so cute. Taylor obviously can't take the suspense because when they got to 50 cents, she stood up took the prize and handed him her dollar, it was hilarious. Every prize was wrapped so you didn't know what you were getting so the thrill of opening it, I believe, is why Taylor just grabbed it.

Taylor got a finger shooter, which is kind of like shooting a rubber band across the room without hurting yourself. She also got a nice new coloring book and crayons. Callee (the monkey) got a nice blue and green stuffed monkey. It was kind of funny that she got that cuz she looks and acts just like a monkey. Shelley gave her a cupcake and she was in her glory. Of course I forgot my camera so I am going to see if Judy will e-mail me the pictures she took so I can post them to my blog. Hopefully you'll have those soon. Until next time, have a great day!
