The self motto

Shana asked me what motto I came up with for Mike to write a paper on. It was, "Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it." Mike is the calm, rational one of the relationship so he pretty much has this motto down. I, on the other hand, react quickly and not usually in the most sane, rational way. His paper turned out pretty good and he was happy with the end result.

He was aloud to use any textbook, internet article, or come up with it on his own. My mom has this poem on her refrigerator and use to preach it to me daily (let's face it my attitude sucked!) I got the motto out of this poem:

Attitude is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education than money, than circumstances, than failures, than success, than what other people think or say or do.It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company.a home. a relationship. The remarkable thing is we have a choice, every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for the day.We cannot change our past. We cannot change the fact that other people will act in a certain way.We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude. I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90 % how I react to it. - Charles Swindoll

This week at work is another busy one. I don't really have any time to write today so there is my post for the day. I know it was so long so I hope you all made it to the end. See you all tomorrow.

It's kind of funny that you posted this today. I saw a bumper sticker yesterday that I decided to make my motto when I saw it. It said
"In whatever you do, is it necessary, truthful, and kind?"

I hope he does well on it. (I'm sure he will.)

Hope your day went well! I love the poem. I am the calmer one in our relationship and DH is always the one who makes mountains out of molehills. I may print this out and hang it on our OWN 'fridge.
