It's the anniversary of the biggest national crisis known in my lifetime. I remember it like it was yesterday and it will be one of those things like when JFK was shot; I'll always remember where I was, how I felt and what I did. Today is a cloudy, chilly day; the perfect day for a somber atmosphere in my opinion. My heart goes out to all the families who lost someone that day or waited by the phone hoping and praying their loved one was okay. Whether they were okay or not everyone of them was feeling the same panic and anxiety until they heard for sure.
Onto my update. So I posted on Tuesday about trust and control. I wanted to let you all know that things couldn't be better. Hindsight is always 20/20, but I really wish I would've gotten to this point years ago. The tension in the air is gone, I am actually enjoying my time at home all the time, not just some. I am much more relaxed and less stressed out (except when it comes to Taylor's homework, but that's another issue.) I still have peace and feel so free from the chains that once bound me.
I am reading the book "The Shack," anyone read it? It's great and what a time to read it. If you remember I had my slap in the face on Thursday night and I had this book for over a week wanting to start it and still hadn't found the time to even start it. Saturday night I started it and even though I have 4 more chapters to read let me tell you that it's what I was meant to read right now. I won't give it all away, but I do want to say whether you are a strong believer, just starting out or struggling with how you feel and what you think about God, you should definitely read this book. I am hoping when I'm done Mike will read it too. It touches on relationships; relationships with God, Jesus, marriages, your children and friends! I need to stop talking about it so I don't ruin it for anyone that wants to read it, but if you've read it e-mail me. I'd love to discuss this one part of it and see if I'm alone in my thinking or how you feel.
I am going to enjoy my weekend and relax with Mike and my girls. Just wanted to update you all and tell you about a wonderful book I think everyone should take the time to read. Hope you all enjoy yours too.
