Stressed

So Mike got told yesterday that they are going to be working 4 8's. This sucks. A couple of weeks ago, he got bumped (due to layoffs) from his higher paying job to a lower paying one & we lost about $150 per check which equaled $300 per month. Now with losing a day, he is looking at losing another $120 - $150 per check which will bring the grand total to right around $600 per month lost income. I am counting my blessings because he does still have insurance that we need. The scary part is that if this doesn't help to cut costs, he will be laid off next Thursday. Please pray this works. The lost wages is tough enough, lost insurance may set me over the edge.

He is applying for some help through his school to help cover the cost of some (if not all) of his books. If this doesn't come through then he's going to have to take next quarter off of school. This is difficult because he has said before that he knows if he stops going, even for one quarter, he won't go back & I definitely want him to finish...he's only got one year left. I am trying to figure out ways to cut costs & really regretting booking our trip to Florida. I hope I can go & relax & have a good time & not feel guilty the whole time we are there. Time will tell what is going to happen & I am trusting my God who has brought us through before to do it once again.

Thanks for listening & prayers would be appreciated. I have a peaceful feeling about all of this 90% of the time, but I'd love for God to wash that peace over me all the time & make me realize that only God knows what is in my future & if I trust him & lean on him, it'll all turn out the way he intended. I need to remember what he intends & what I want could be two totally different things. That is a hard piece of pie to swallow.

Oh, I will be praying for you! I know what you mean about that other 10%, but keep in mind that is the devil working on you. God is always there 100% of the time!

Oh Courtney.. I know how you are feeling.. Back in Sept Everyone at Barry's work took a paycut and then a week later they were all told they were going down to 4 10 hour days.. then a week later it was down to just 4 8 hour days. and He worked those 32 hours a week until Feb when they were told things were looking good and they moved them back to 4 10 hour days. ONLY to find out the last week of Febuary that it was there last week of work and they were being laid off. ~sigh~ Now we lose our insurance at the end of this month. and Since he was our only sorce of income we are still trying to figure it all out. I hope things turn around. I'll be praying.

Saying prayers for all of us. I know what you mean about wanting to just give it up to God and trust He knows what is best for us. After 5 months of hubby being out of work, I find myself really struggling with it.

I hope things turn out for both of us. Big hugs and know I am here for you.

I truly feel for your situation, we have been going through a lay-off 4 years ago, then a sub teacher and now he is working 2 teaching jobs. He also has to go back to school to be a certified Math Teacher. I will pray for you and others with small children in this challenge of life. It is tough but it all works out to the good....

I am sending smiles your way. I need them myself too.
Times truly are hard.
I do hope you have a good time on your trip. I would make it a time to forget about all your worries and just come back to them after you get back.
My husband is declaring bankruptcy and we are losing our home. We will have to move out soon after the baby is born. Thank goodness for some good through all the struggles.
