I'm so glad there are days like this

Some days your kids make you prouder than you could have ever imagined. You teach your kids things, but you never really know if they get it or not; sometimes it's like you are talking to a wall.

We have always taken our kids to church. It has always been very important to me for them to be raised in the church; I was also raised in the church. My husband was not, so it wasn't so important to him. It started out that just Taylor and I would go to church and he would stay home and do whatever it is that he did, but then one day he started going with us.

The girls' pediatrician believes like I do that children should have a strong Christian faith to stand on from a very young age. He used to offer for us to go to his church until I told him that we do take our girls to church every Sunday and we do have a church of our own.

My mom took Callee for her last check up appointment because I had made it at a time that neither Mike or I could take her and my mom wasn't working at the time. While the doctor is going over all the numbers (height, weight, what percentile she falls into) with my mom, my sweet, sweet 4 year old who is obviously learning something says, "Jesus is my best friend and lives in my heart. He should be your best friend and live in your heart too, does he?" to the doctor.

I don't think I could have been prouder at that moment and I think maybe the angels sang too.

That is super sweet!! I need to get my kids to church one of these days. We have never gone since we got married. Hubby is totally anti-religion but was raised Catholic. I was raised Presbyterian. I've just never found a church I was 100% comfortable in. I do know it's important and I really need to work on that.

You should be so proud of her. See you are doing a great job with your girls don't ever think you're not. This made me smile.

What a great story! It just melted my heart. I am so glad I raised my 2 kids in the church. They did go thru stages in their teen years and didn't want to go sometimes and my husband didn't always go with, but I look back and it really paid off. They are now adult parents raising their own kids in the church and I couldn't be prouder. You are doing an excellent job as a mom. Stay strong and stick to your beliefs cause it will pay off.

P.S. you never know, you might have a missionary on your hands! Good for her being bold and talking about Jesus. She is precious.
