Hodge Podge - Yes I stole it!

Okay so Steph does a Friday Hodge Podge every week and I had to steal it this week because I seem to have a million different thoughts that I want to get down today. I won't write them all, I don't feel comfortable sharing them all, but what a better title than "Bear with me, I'm kinda all over today."

First, I have gotten a couple of people who said that my blog isn't updating in their reader. It won't now that it's private. Sorry for the inconvenience. I understand why you won't be around as often, but if you think about it and want to stop by, chances are I'm still here.

Why do kids have to ask the hard questions at such a young age? Now that my sister is pregnant, Taylor has started asking some questions. Thank goodness we haven't gotten to the sex questions yet, but I didn't get married until Taylor was almost a year old. Here's our conversation:

T: I don't think I want to ever have a baby because it will hurt my belly.

Me: You don't have to have a baby if you don't want to, but it doesn't hurt your belly for too long and it's worth it. I wouldn't have you if I didn't let you hurt my belly a little. You have a long time to think about it before you decide if you really want a baby or not.

T: I do?

Me: Yes. You will grow up, find a boyfriend that you like, then you will love him and get married and then you will decide if you really want a baby or not.

T: Is that what you did with dad?

Me: Kinda.

T: Then you decided you wanted another baby so you loved dad again and got married again and had another baby?

Me: You only get married once sweetie!

I will not lie and make her think we were married before we had her, but I'm not going through it right now. I didn't lie to her, but I still feel bad about the answer I gave her. Thank goodness her next question wasn't how do you have babies because I won't lie about that, but I really don't know what is age appropriate at 4. I should probably invest in some books now for her age and avoid all the "let me get back to you answers." Know any good books?

Since being put on the prevention medicine 9 days ago I have had only 2 bad headaches! Considering I was having anywhere from 3 - 5 a week 2 is good. I've had a couple little ones too, but Advil took those ones away.

It is such a fine line with my sister. I want to support her emotionally through her pregnancy because I know it's not easy, but I don't want her to think this means that I support her relationship. Also, she has lied to all of us a lot in the past and so I'm constantly wondering if she is telling me the truth or just lying again. I told her I would watch the baby while she finishes school (we live one street over from the school she goes to and she goes at night) and I really hope she takes me up on that offer. I am excited about having a new baby in the family I just really wish it were going to be under different circumstances.

I think that is all I'll put down for today. I hope everyone has a good weekend, especially you Steph. Enjoy your beach vacation. If you still need a guest blogger, let me know what day and I'll do it!

It's hard to know how to support someone without condoning their behavior... I'm praying for you!

Good luck with Taylor. Gracie isn't asking questions quite that pointed yet, but the questions she does ask NEVER STOP, so I can't imagine if they were on a tougher topic! :-) Good luck--I wish I had better advice!

Hope you're having a great weekend.

Those questions are hard that is for sure. Just remember to keep your answers age appropriate. I get tough questions from Bug on babies and adoption. Busy Boy hasn't asked too much yet. I know they will come.

I wish you luck with your relationship with your sister. Trust is a hard thing to earn back once it's lost.

big hugs!

Yeah I saw a book that went into a little too much detail yesterday. I dont think at this age they want quiet so much info.

her questions reminded me of a story with my oldest when she was almost 4 years old. It was right after I had Mr Man, Princess was at my moms house and mom was watching that show don't know what it is called birth story or something like that but she got to see a women give birth(at 4 years old that is a whole different story LOL) Anyways Princess came home and told me about it.
Princess " Mom do babies really come out down there"(and she points)

Me "yes honey they do"
Princess "Doesn't that hurt"
Me "yes it does"
she stops thinks for a minute then says "So then why did you have Ryan???"

I couldn't stop LOL.. I mean if I went though it once(when I had her) and found out that it hurt, then why would I go and do it again.. I loved how her mind work LOL.

I'm still without a computer.. I hope you are doing well..
