New Church

Taylor, Callee, and I went to a church that my brother has been going to with him. He loves this church. He's only gone for a couple of weeks, but is really on fire for God, which is pretty amazing because just a short while ago he was struggling with God. Is there a God, why does he let certain things happen, running basically. So I thought I'd try it out and if the girls and I liked it maybe we'd go there on a Sunday and see what Mike thought of it. It was a pretty nice church. The big thing that stood out is how nice and welcoming everyone there was. I was so impressed because the church I go to now and have gone for a while isn't that welcoming to their continuous memebers let alone a new person. Also, it was full of young people, some married, some not and I liked that a lot. I think we will try it out next Sunday, but the funny thing is when I asked Taylor if she liked it she said no.

Please keep in mind this is the girl who doesn't want her sister anymore. When I asked her why she didn't like it she said because when they were in the children's room this one little boy kept saying, "Get the baby!" talking about Callee. So the worker ended up holding Callee almost the entire time. I asked her why that bothered her and she said she wanted to be able to play with Callee and have that little boy leave her alone. Then she said she just wanted to go back to our church. She says she likes it there and she misses everyone. I had her Sunday School teacher call me the other night and ask when we were coming back because she misses us. (We haven't been there for a while.) I explained some things to her and she asked that we let Taylor continue going with my mom until Easter so she can be in the Easter program they are working on. I'm not sure, but I think I will let her. Any opinions on it?

I'll let you know what happens on March 2 when I go back with Mike and Callee. Taylor will probably still be going with my mom at that point. Please keep praying about this with me.

***As a side I just realized this is post 150. Feels like it was just 100.

I think it would be good for Callee to go with your mom at least until the program is over. I'm glad you liked this new church - it's just a matter of looking around - you will find somewhere you like. I will keep you and your family in my prayers. Take care - Kellan

It is sometimes difficult for kids, of any age really, to adjust to change. In time, I will hope for you that she comes around. Hugs.

That's a hard one, I think the family should be together but I see the point about the program.
I'll keep you in prayer.

Let her decide, it sounds like she likes your Church. I feel like our Church is our family. If something is going on that is bothering you, it sure may be bothering others also. I know from experience that a Church that has become 'unfriendly' in general, can get back on track and change. It may take some 'family members' to step up. Have you had a talk with your pastor yet? That would be my 2 cents worth, have a heart to heart with your pastor before leaving. It was wonderful for the Sunday school teacher to phone you.

we share our 150th post together.
I think if Callee wants to be in the program it wouldn't hurt for her to go with your mom. I've been thru similar situations when my kids were young. It is so hard looking for a new church that everyone is happy at. I pray that you will find that place where God wants you to be and your kids are happy.

Dealing with change here too.
It doesn't seem to matter what kind of change it is not easy

I bet that your daughter will be just fine at the new church in a few weeks. It just may take some 'adjustment time.'
