Doctor Appointment

When I went to the doctor on Monday I was pretty sure I had lupus. All of the symptoms I was having and with my family history it just fit. Well, I do indeed have lupus, but with some of my symptoms it could be a more severe form of lupus or it could be that I am just not sleeping well. Now I have to go have a sleep medicine consult and possibly a sleep test later. Then I go back to the doctor that I saw on Monday to discuss the results and figure out where to go from there.

Basically, I am still in the same spot I was in before because she didn't want to put me on the wrong medicine and if they do have to do a sleep test I have to be off all medications for 2 weeks so she didn't want me to start feeling better only to have to be taken off of them again. I definitely appreciate her concern, but I am a little disappointed because I have gotten myself through the last month by saying only one more month and I'll start feeling better. Now I have to wait until November 19. One.more.month.

As far as Taylor goes, her blood tests came back positive for an auto immune disorder. We are taking her to a specialist because it could be lupus or hoshimoto's (unsure of the spelling) and with her always complaining that she hurts it needs to be taken care of. It could be a number of other auto immune disorders, but those are the two we have in our family. My sister was diagnosed with hoshimoto's a year ago and my mom was diagnosed with Lupus 12 years ago. Apparently once someone in your family has an auto immune disorder (any of them) you have a much higher risk of developing one (any one of them.) Btw, Taylor goes to the doctor on November 10.

Both of my kids are battling sicknesses right now. Callee has croup and a nose that won't quit running which I am grateful for. It seems like whenever Callee's nose runs, but not all the time she ends up with an ear infection; when it is constantly running off her face she doesn't seem to develop ear infections as much. I'll take the runny nose thanks.

Taylor has a pretty nasty cough, but we are thinking it is just a virus and keeping a close eye on her. They didn't go to daycare yesterday or today, but hopefully they'll be returning tomorrow. They are both pretty miserable and when you are the only one home with them it isn't easy to juggle the holding and nose wiping and bedtime routines, but we are making it with very few hurt feelings (I think!)

The girls had to come to my work for 30 minutes yesterday so while they were here I decided to take pictures of them (I haven't been taking pictures lately.) Here are a few of them (they are a little blurry):

I hope everyone has a great hump day! I am sure mine will be better.

Here I am complaining when you actually have real problems. It is so awful to know something's wrong and not be able to fix it. I hope everyone starts feeling better soon and the rest of your week gets better.

I'm so sorry about all the illness and Dr. appointements - I know you just want to be done with it and feel better.

Those pictures are darling - your girls are so beautiful and I think they should be in commercials or on TV - really!

Take care and I hope the girls feel better soon - Kellan

I know it's hard waiting and making more, more appointments to still have no answers.

I hope and pray you have answers soon. It sounds like with Taylor you're getting closer.

Always in my prayers,
Amy
