Throwback Thursday - my wedding

Here is Taylor and I on 4/2/05 just finishing up getting ready for my big day with her daddy!

This is Taylor in all her glory with her gorgeous dress on. I loved this ensemble. Mike and I exchanging vows.
Our whole wedding party. Left to right standing: Lacey (my sister), Jenn (one of my best friends), Tina (Mike's sister), Alissa (my older sister), Kevin (Mike's cousin), Brian (Mike's other cousin), Justin (Mike's brother), Mark (one of Mike's best friends), Josh (my brother). The four kids standing are my niece, Mike's sister, my nephew, and Mike's brother. Garter time.
My mommy and I dancing! The woman in the white is my aunt and her son who was one of my best friends growing up just got engaged! Congrats to Drew and Janine. They just asked me last night to be in their wedding next summer. Another excuse to go tanning (YES!)

Me and Jenn. I love her.
Okay so here is a funny story for you. It was going to cost me more than the dress cost to have it hemmed on the bottom so instead I decided to buy shoes with a really big heal. Big mistake. The shoes were so cute and the heal wasn't the problem. The problem was that it had clear plastic straps that crossed over my feet and were cutting into my skin. Before I even walked down the aisle, I could hardly walk from the pain. Luckily my sister knew this. We were standing in front of the stage when I first walked up there and then before we said our vows we would walk up onto the stage.

The problem was, I couldn't walk up the stairs in these shoes, they were killing me, but I wasn't going to not try. I tried and couldn't so I looked at my sister Alissa (my maid of honor) and said, "I can't do this." She knew exactly what I meant and gave her bouquet and mine for someone else to hold while she helped me take my shoes off so I could get up the steps. Everyone else witnessing this fiasco thought I was leaving Mike at the alter and began to cry for him. Then they realized what I meant and busted out laughing. We obviously continued with the ceremony only I was shoeless and people still bring up my wedding as the funniest they've ever been to because of that moment.

I know they say that it is good luck if it rains on your wedding day so let me tell you about the weather we had. We woke up about 5:00 a.m. (had to get our hair done at 7:30) and it was 65 degrees outside. When we got done with our hair it was about 58 degrees and raining, very dreary. After the ceremony we had snow flurries and it was cold (did you notice everyone had sleeveless dresses?) After the reception, we had about an inch of snow on the ground and when we woke up the next morning there was about 5 inches of snow. It was a typical crazy Ohio day. Then, someone later informed us that the pope also died that day. Good thing we're not Catholic.

Anyways, three years ago I got married to the wonderful man I can't wait to grow old with. We have two beautiful daughters together and life is an adventure every.single.day. Like I told him on our anniversary, I loved him yesterday, I love him today, and God willing, I'll love him tomorrow. I hope you all enjoyed my pictures and stories and then my mushiness.

Have a great day!

UPDATE: Callee's fever broke and she's back at daycare. Let's hope it stays away!

Sweet! You guys are a beautiful couple. Painful feet ugh..... But a funny story. Taylor was adorable, one day Callee will ask why Taylor got to go to your wedding and she didn't! I'm glad she's better today.

Such a beautiful story. You were like cinderella in reverse. You had to take the shoes off to get married.
