Changes

Daddy lovins :P
As most of you know our family has gone through a lot of changes in the last month or so. Mike started school April 8 and loves it, which is wonderful. Last week he was on vacation from work and it was great to have him get the girls from daycare so I could be home before 6 and it gave him and the girls some time together before I got home, which they loved every minute of. This week, he is in full swing of school in the morning and work in the evening. It was wonderful having him home last week and now the girls are expecting it this week also and it obviously is not going to happen. This has led to some questions of "Where's my daddy?", "When will he be home?", and my favorite, "Does he still live here?" I love this question because it is from Taylor and he woke Taylor up every day this week and got her dressed so she saw him everyday if only for a few minutes; I guess it was so early that she forgot or was still sleeping.

The girls have adjusted better than I could have ever imagined in daycare. They are happy to go, have lots of fun, and Callee is really learning a lot; her vocabulary has picked up and she sings part of her ABC's. Taylor's class is learning stuff she all ready learned at her previous preschool, but she loves the playtime outside and they also do "gymsters" for her age group at daycare which she loves. The only part Taylor doesn't like is getting up in the mornings. Every day I hear, "But I just wanted to sleep in a little today!" Once she is up and moving she is fine and is eager to get to "school."

I have to admit that I have heard so many mixed reviews about daycare that I was unsure this was a good choice. I've heard that they don't get the attention they need and they are always sick to they learn to become independent and immune to everything by the time they go to real school. I guess it just depends on your outlook. If I didn't have to work, trust me, I'd rather be at home teaching my kids myself, but unfortunately, that is not an option for our house so I think we have made the best decision based on our needs at this moment.

I couldn't be more pleased with our daycare center or our very resilient kids who have taken to this like it has always been the norm. That is the update for our house and what is going on in our little world.

Glad things are working out with that.
It is scary putting your child in a new situation, but it feels good when you know they are doing well and enjoy it.

My son was in daycare all his life and he turn ot great! I know a lot of people down it but some of us parents have to work and can't stay home, and you know what my son turned out to be the smartest one in his class when he started school. So ha is what I said to all the moms that use to look at me like a was a horrible mother for doing the daycare thing.

Your doing the right thing, don't worry sounds like they are learning a lot.
