So Mike, Callee, and I went to my brother's church on Sunday. We enjoyed the pastor, had a good sermon and in that good sermon he said that if you let the other things that are going on around you in the church cloud you, you are taking your eyes off of Jesus. Do you think God gave me my answer? I kept saying that God would let me know what I was supposed to do and he did. Our church is having revival this week so I went Sunday night and I'm also going to go again tonight. When I arrived Sunday night it was a wonderful homecoming. I asked the pastor if I could talk to him sometime this week and he told me to call him when it was a good time for me because with the two girls he can imagine I am stressed and busy. That was really nice of him.
I had a reader comment that it was quite the leap of faith for Mike to go back to school. I want to explain how it came about now and why we are totally at peace about it. We always said he needed to go back. He let me go back and I didn't have to work. We knew that wasn't going to work out for him, but he still needed to do it. We have been talking about it on and off for about 4 months now and one day he just said he needed to do it now or he never would. He got some information and talked to some schools and then decided he wanted to get his Associate's in Business and then work from there. I prayed about this because that would mean we would need to put the girls in daycare (which we can't afford.) He said he'd stay at his job until he was done and then look for another job. I decided I could try to trade in my Jeep to get something with lower payments and better on gas. I called the daycare my aunt works at that never has openings and it turns out they have one for each of my kids and the owner will give me a nice discount since he knows my family. That part was taken care of, but I still needed a different car.
The girl that works with me part time, her dad is a manager at a car dealership so she talked to him. Now you have to realize I still owed a lot on my Jeep so I knew I'd have negative equity and my credit score is pretty bad because of the car accident and the medical bills that went into collections so I also knew I'd need a cosigner and I'd have a high interest rate. Mike's grandma said she'd cosign no problem so on Saturday I went to the dealership. Turns out her dad gave me a lot for my Jeep, went down in price a lot on the car and reduced my payments by $70 a month. It gets 6 more miles city and 10 more highway than my Jeep did. I also got a lower than expected interest rate because we put it in Mike's name instead. There were some headaches with another dealership. I don't want to mention too much about that because I really want to focus on how God can work if you'll let him, but I also wanted to let everyone know that there were some stumbling blocks too.
I picked up my new (used) car yesterday and Mike will start school in a month and the girls start daycare in two weeks. They will go half a day until Mike starts school in hopes they'll adjust well before they have to start going all day. If you give it to God, he will not let you down. He may not answer the answer you want, but it's all in his plan! Just have faith and believe.

What a story of God working in you and your families life! This is such an inspiring testimony, Courtney!! Please know that I will continue to pray for you as these changes start to happen. :o)
good luck with it all, hope it all works out for you.
I totall agree! So glad to hear that it worked out well with your new car and I think it is great that you hubby is going back to school. Lots of stuff going on in your world right now - I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. See you soon. Kellan
I am so glad that has wored out for you. Good luck to Mike with school. It is always scary to contemplate going back.
Don't you just love the way God works in our lives.
It is wonderful when things go in a good direction even if there are some straggling problems in the background.
We serve a Big God and he is always here for his children. This is great news. We don't need fancy material things...a cheaper vehicle and furthering education is so important and will pay off in the long run...good for your husband to make that choice. Great to see that God worked it all out for you with the day care too.
